Limoncello sgroppino

A Venetian tradition, sgroppino is halfway between a frozen dessert and a cocktail. Originally made with vodka, this fresh limoncello version has a more fragrant and subtle flavour.
This dessert-cocktail can be prepared just before serving for one or more people. It requires just a few ingredients.

Ingredients for two glasses :
  • 2 scoops of sorbet of your choice : lemon, lime, kalamansi, yuzu
  • 60 ml of limoncello
  • 120 ml of prosecco or sparkling wine
To prepare, simply blend the sorbet, limoncello and prosecco in a food processor until it is frothy. Be careful not to blend too much so that the sorbet doesn't melt too much.
If you don't have a blender, you can whisk the ingredients in a bowl until the mixture is frothy.
Pour the sgroppino into cups or flutes and enjoy.

For an even more sweet version, you can replace the sorbet with lemon ice cream.
You can use the limoncello of your choice for this recipe. For more tangy notes, opt for Tahitian lime limoncello, and if you prefer a more orangy touch of clementine, kalamansi limoncello is the one for you.
